Mandawa: The city of Mandawa, founded in the mid-18th century, boasts of the finest painted havelis in the region and is a perfect place for wandereing at random. The Goenka Havelis in the city are well worth the visit -Ladhuram Tarkesvar, Dedraj Turmal & the Ladia havelis (of which there are a number). The Shiva temple here has a rock crystal lingam. The Harlalkabaoli (a working step well) should be visited early in the morning to watch the oxen at work on the ramp to raise water.

Kuchaman Fort : In the Nagaur district of Rajasthan, is a rare masterpiece of royal heritage. An erstwhile garrison, built by the Gurjar Pratiharas to control the ancient trade route from Central Asia, between 450 to 750 A.D. This magnificent fort rises proudly atop a 1000 ft high rock cliff. The Fort's formidable ramparts, 32 bastions, 10 gateways, water storage tanks, cannons, secret passages, hideouts, underground escape routes, along with its rich and interesting history.

Wankaner : Wankaner is situated in western Gujarat in the heart of an island and on the peninsula of Saurashtra. The most attractive feature of Wankaner is its palace, which is visible from a distance, with a watchtower placed at the peak of one of the hills behind it. The most striking aspect of the palace is the large clock tower which rises exactly at the midpoint of the building. Imported from England, this masterpiece is still in perfect working condition.

Diu : The 11 km long and 3 km wide island of Diu is situated off the southern tip of the Kathiawad peninsula on the northern side of the Gulf of Khambhat. The island has a fascinating history, excellent cuisine and superb beaches. The northern side of the island has been subjected to marine disposition and comprises salt pans and marshes. The southern coast has some fine limestone and sandy beaches.

Bhavnagar : An 18th century city, Bhavnagar is a premier cotton-exporting seaport on the southeastern Saurashtra coast. The city is dotted with gardens. On the outskirts of the city is the Victoria Park, which has been developed as a botanical garden and has a deer park within it. Bhavnagar also houses the Gandhi Smriti, an institution built in the memory of Mahatma Gandhi, the Barton Museum, the Central Salt and Marine Research Institute, the Takhteswar temple and the Gauri-Shankar lake.
